Dr. Aldo Montecinos (Chile, 1965) received his undergraduate degree as an Oceanographer from the P. Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (1991), his Master of Sciences in Atmospheric Sciences from Universidad de Chile (1998) and his PhD in Oceanography from Universidad de Concepción (2005).

His research interests are: Variability and climate change, climatic predictability and extreme events, trophic-extratrophic interaction, atmospheric and oceanographic processes at a regional scale.

Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of the University of Concepción.
